SimLab is an immersive, real-time platform for teaching preparation and professional learning that gives students and pre-service educators the opportunity to experience, practice and improve their teaching techniques in a safe learning environment. All while receiving immediate feedback from a SimLab tutor after each experience. SimLab is a real-time classroom simulation that represents pupils with differing learning capabilities that respond in accordance to the teacher and lesson, representing a realistic classroom scenario.
As a Murdoch University Education student, I have the privileged opportunity to develop my teaching & learning strategies through the SimLab Classroom. This allows me to experiment with new teaching strategies, behaviour management as well as differentiation for a diverse range of students within a classroom environment.
In 2019, I was asked by Murdoch as a Third Year Education student to participate in an interview with the ABC News, covering the SimLab Classroom and how it has helped me to develop, improved and flourish as a Pre-Service Teacher. I was asked to participate in the interview as a result of a SimLab Year 4 Mathematics lesson I took, which was informative, hands-on and highly engaging.
